ALTONA LIFE SAVING CLUB

 

This project for Hobsons Bay City Council, called for the replacement of an existing clubhouse which was outdated and had no presence on the beach.

 

The resolution was to provide a beach pavilion with unobstructed views of the foreshore and a separate clubhouse off the beach for club facilities and storage.

 

The beach pavilion was also to be used by Victoria Police as a presence on the street to curtail night-time drag racing along the Esplanade.

 

The project has become an iconic landmark on the Altona beachfront and an invaluable asset for the Altona Life Saving Club and the local community.
